May 7’th is the Day-of-the-Radio for Russia as this day on year 1895 Alexander Popov demonstrated his coherer based radio receiver to the Russian Physical and Chemical Society.
Alexander Popov is first invented, Guglielmo Marconi first patented. This two great persons works independently with Oliver Joseph Lodge coherer, which was modified Edouard Branly “tube” and successfully enhanced it to make automatic radio signal receiving possible.
8 years before Heinrich Rudolf Hertz who expanded James Clerk Maxwell’s electromagnetic theory discovered the Photoelectric Effect in 1887… and the first words encoded by Morse code and transmitted over-the-air was HEINRICH HERTZ.
